It has been announced that Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s new song KIMI GA IINE KURETARA will be used as the theme song for the upcoming Japanese drama series Mukai no Bazuru Kazoku set to begin airing on April 4, 2019. The series is directed by Michihito Fujii and stars Rio Uchida as the main character.

Uchida plays the part of Akari, a manager at a cafe. A video posted online garners her attention, causing her family to get involved in the social media world.

In Kyary’s song, she plays the part of a heaven-sent child and sends positive messages to today’s children lost on social media.

The song will debut on the TV special Taiken! Kiseki no Real Time on March 21, 2019 at 21:00 (JST).

Talking about the song and drama, Kyary comments: “I am so happy to be able to be in charge of the drama theme song for Mukai no Bazuru Kazoku which discusses social media. For me, someone who has always used social media to give myself exposure, KIMI GA IINE KURETARA is the perfect song for both myself and for in the drama series. It feels so good to sing it. Please enjoy the song together with the series!”
