23.August.2019 | ANIME&GAME / MUSIC

It has been announced that Centimillimental’s new single Kizuato will be released on CD on September 11. The music video has also just dropped.

The song was written as the opening theme for the ongoing anime series Given. It was released as an independent digital single when the anime first aired last month and instantly shot to No. 1 on iTunes Japan’s rock charts.

Centimillimental – “Kizuato” Music Video

The music video features appearances from Ryosuke Miyake and Mayu Nishida, two models who are gaining rapid popularity. In Japan, full versions of music videos are often only made available by picking up a limited edition copy of a CD which will come with a DVD or Blu-ray with the video on it.

The CD’s cover art has also been unveiled, including the Given anime jacket featured on first press limited edition copies. When purchasing the single at select stores, fans can receive special bonus items including folders and pictures. The store list can be found here (Japanese).

  • Given BL Anime Trailer Unveils New Characters, Key Visual Released, July 11 Premiere

    16.June.2019 | ANIME&GAME

Given is a popular boys-love manga by Natsuki Kizu that is serialised in Shinshokan’s Cheri+ magazine. An anime adaptation is set to premiere on Fuji Television’s noitaminA programming block in July.

A new key visual was posted in the run up to the anime’s release and features the band members during band practice: Mafuyu, Ritsuka, Haruki and Akihiko.

A new promotional video was also released.

The new cast and characters are as follows.

    Shintarō Asanuma as Ugetsu Murata

A university student and genius violinist who is active internationally. He has been classmates with Akihiko since their high school days.

    Fumiya Imai as Hiiragi Kashima

A high school student who, along with Mafuyu, seems to knows something about Mafuyu’s guitar.

It has also been announced that the opening theme, which can be heard in the promo video is entitled Kizuato and is performed by centimillimental. The ending theme Marutsuke will be performed by the anime’s band Given.

Speaking about working on the opening theme, centimillimental comments: “When I stop and think about things, I have memories of people that are like scars, like something that would make one’s chest tighten. But when I look at those scars, I realise that I certainly did have days I spent with them that I treasure, and I repeat that to myself. I overcome those sad days by putting them into songs. Given overlaps greatly with what centimillimental is all about: the pain and conflict that arises with encounters and breakups. I feel that these encounters are predestined. I hope that the pain which Mafuyu feels is the same as everyone who comes in contact with this series.”

  • New ‘Given’ Anime Trailer Reveals Character Haruki Nakayama’s Voice

    31.May.2019 | ANIME&GAME

Given is a popular boys-love manga by Natsuki Kizu that is serialised in Shinshokan’s Cheri+ magazine. An anime adaptation is set to premiere on Fuji Television’s noitaminA programming block in July.

A promotional video series entitled “talk to_PV” has been ongoing since May 16 showcasing different characters’ voices. A Twitter campaign is also running alongside the video series for each character. Full details below.

    talk to_PV Haruki Version

The third character to be unveiled of the planned four is Haruki Nakayama.

Haruki gives a vague reason as to why he grows his hair long. We will have to wait until the series begins airing to find out the whole story.

The character is voiced by Masatomo Nakazawa who commented the following regarding his role: “The series is like a calm spring. When a single water droplet falls, it ripples the surface. This ripple is the youth, love and friendship of [the characters in] the series resonating with one another and gushing forth. I believe that Haruki too is part of that flow where he works, moves, and is shifted. I hope that eventually, it is vibrant music which chimes from the lull.”

  • Natsuki Kizu’s BL Manga ‘Given’ Receives TV Anime Adaptation in July

    18.March.2019 | ANIME&GAME / Uncategorized

Natsuki Kizu’s popular boys-love manga Given is a popular boys-love manga by Natsuki Kizu that is serialised in Shinshokan’s Cheri+ magazine. It has been announced that the series is receiving an anime adaptation and will premiere on Fuji Television’s noitaminA programming block in July.

The musical series will star Shougo Yano as Mafuyu Sato on vocals and guitar, Yūma Uchida as Ritsuka Uenoyama on guitar, Masatomo Nakazawa as Haruki on bass, and Takuya Eguchi as Akihiko Kaji on drums.

The series centres on Ritsuka who has lost interest in playing guitar. One day he meets Mafuyu, who has a broken guitar. The two of them start playing together, but when Ritsuka hears Mafuyu’s voice, his feelings for him begin to change.

The manga’s author Natsuki Kizu commented the following about the adaptation: “I keep feeling surprise and a sense of freshness in the studio as I hear the actual music come to life for my manga Given where there was no sound before.”

Series director Hikaru Yamaguchi also stated: “When I was told I would be directing the series, I was reading several pages of the manga and wondering to myself how best to lay out each scene. I was surprised because before I even took it up my brain was already intent on bringing it to life on the screen. I got to work, and for the first time ever, my body said ‘I want to do this.’ Music, friends, companionship, the person you like, joy, sadness, impatience, jealousy. These are the things I want to convey―the intertwined emotions of youth. We live in a diverse society.  I wish for lots of people to watch it, even if on their own.”
