Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo Reveals Jelly Frappuccino® & Mousse Foam Caramel Macchiato

The new Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo is set to open as the 5th global branch of Starbucks Reserve Roastery® on February 28, 2019.

 

To commemorate, the coffee shop has announced it will serve its new Crafted Coffee Jelly Frappuccino® and Mousse Foam Caramel Macchiato from the day of its grand opening. Both beverages are made with coffee beans available only in Japan.

The Crafted Coffee Jelly Frappuccino® contains an original coffee jelly made from the Espresso Roast used in all of the shop’s espresso beverages. The freshly drawn espresso shot is cooled rapidly for the frappuccino without harming its high quality flavour. It’s topped with coffee whipped cream, coffee cherry pieces and a sugar made from the outside layer of the cherries. The combination of the full-bodied Espresso Roast and the sweetness of the caramel make this drink akin to a luxurious dessert. It’s the ultimate coffee experience.

 

The Caramel Macchiato is a classic and long-enjoyed drink served at Starbucks. By adding fluffy foamed mousse which has a very delicate flavour the coffee chain has poured an all new coffee experience into its cups: the Mousse Foam Caramel Macchiato. Unlike the Crafted Coffee Jelly Frappuccino® which is a limited-time drink, the new macchiato is to be a regular menu item. It’s decorated with the classic macchiato grid design in caramel sauce.

 

Since establishing in 1971, Starbucks has purchased coffee beans from El Salvador. It is working to help improve the environment of the region and coffee farming by supporting local medical clinics and carrying out educational support.

 

To celebrate the opening of Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo, the branch will sell a new single origin series of coffee beans all grown in El Salvador. This includes the “juicy and bright” Catuai beans which have a citrus-y sourness with notes of apricot and peach, the “balanced and floral” Pacamara beans which have a delicate flowery flavour of roses and violets, and the Bourbon beans which have “Meyer lemon and milk chocolate notes.”

 

All of these products are available in Japan only. Be sure to give the new branch a visit when travelling there for an exclusive coffee experience.
