Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s ‘Ninja Re Bang Bang Steve Aoki Remix’ Now Available On Nintendo Switch’s Ninjala

30.October.2020 | ANIME&GAME / MUSIC

The developers of the hit Nintendo Switch™ title Ninjala have collaborated with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu once again by putting Steve Aoki’s remix of her song Ninja Re Bang Bang into the game on October 29, 2020.

In the colourful world of Ninjala, players blow bubble gum to craft different weapons and fight using the fighting style of ninjutsu. Players can also transform into nearby objects, and they must use parkour to traverse different landscapes while aiming to take down their opponents. Released on June 25 this year, the game has been downloaded over 5 million times.

Steve Aoki released his remix of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s hit track Ninja Re Bang Bang back in June. The track was subsequently used to promote Ninjala in commercials as well as an animated music video. The song proved so popular it made it onto numerous huge music playlists. The song is now available in-game for a limited time via the in-game Select Shop where it can be purchased to be played as part of the game’s BGM.

But that’s not all, as players can also purchase Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s outfit from the original Ninja Re Bang Bang music video including her costume and accessories. There’s also an Emote that recreates the choreography from the song’s chorus in the music video as well as a Ninja Re Bang Bang costume Ippon decoration.

Kyary will perform live on the SHOWROOM video streaming service on Halloween day with a special concert entitled “THE FAMILY 10.31.” This themed show tells the story of a family living in a house in the woods. This one-night-only concept show will be streamed worldwide, and will see Kyary’s first-ever live performance of Ninja Re Bang Bang Steve Aoi Remix.

Last month, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu performed on the Gobi Stage at Coachella, one of the largest music festivals in the United States. The singer has now returned to Japan for the second half of her ‘Kyary Pamyu Pamyu 10th ANNIVERSARY JAPAN TOUR 2022 CANDY WAVE,’ seeing the singer performing 30 shows across Japan. The tour will conclude with a solo performance at Budokan in October.

In conjunction with the nationwide tour, the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project was launched to energize Japan through the appeal of regional towns and cities and has been attracting major attention. Kyary’s newest collaboration in Yamagata has been announced ahead of her concert there on May 13!

The singer will be collaborating with Shelter Nanyo Hall in Nanyo, Yamagata, a small town of only around 30,000 people. The hall is the world’s largest wooden concert hall, made entirely from laminated local cedar. It uses the most advanced fire-resistant technology for wood in Japan and was certified as the world’s largest by Guinness World Records in December 2015. The multi-functional hall can seat over 1,400 people, and the property also features a Japanese-style tea room, meeting rooms, an open tree-growing space, and more.

“I want the local population to be incredibly proud of this magnificent wooden structure,” said Norihito Shimanuki, the hall’s director. “Through this concert hall, we’d like to promote Nanyo and Yamagata Prefecture both domestically and internationally.”

The collaboration logo for the newest partnership was inspired by the ‘KPP NANDA COLLECTION LIVE in HAWAII’ visual. The one-night-only concert was held in July 2014. Since the main focus of this team-up is ‘wood,’ the visual’s palm tree has been transformed into a cedar tree!

  • Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Announces First Solo Budokan Appearance in Six Years Following Success at Coachella

    10.May.2022 | MUSIC

In April 2022, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu performed at the world’s largest music festival Coachella, held in California. Following this incredible moment in her career, the singer played a solo concert at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. American fans were thrilled to see her return to the states after three years, with any overseas performances canceled due to the pandemic.

During the most recent stop on her domestic tour, Kyary announced that she would be performing a solo concert at Nippon Budokan for the first time in six years. The concert will be the final stop on the singer’s 10th-anniversary tour and will be held on October 19, 2022.

The announcement was made on May 7, the first day of the second half of Kyary’s current tour. The LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo housed the singer upon her return from the states and tickets were sold out with fans excited to see what beloved tracks the Harajuku symbol would perform!

The setlist for the performance featured highlights from Kyary’s decade-long career. The artist performed Candy Racer from her new album; Invader Invader, a current smash-hit on TikTok; the ever-popular Harajuku Iyahoi; the Halloween anthem Crazy Party Night ~Pumpkins Strike Back~; and Gentenkaihi, the track celebrating Kyary’s special anniversary.

During the MC portion of the performance, Kyary shared details of a certain moment during Coachella that made a huge impact on her. The singer was concerned that no one would show up to her concert, as she was scheduled to perform at the same time as global stars Billie Eilish and 21 Savage.

“Kyary, it’ll be fine,” one of her dancers said. “We’ll be on stage together. You’re not alone, so go out there and do what you always do!” Such a powerful message brought Kyary to tears.

During the second weekend performance, Kyary performed alone for the first time in her decade-long career after her dancers suffered from a sudden illness. She wrote their initials on her hands during her set to keep them with her. She emotionally thanked the audience for coming and said that she would not have been able to perform if the fans hadn’t given her the strength to do so.

Starting with a show in Yamagata on May 13, Kyary will tour 16 more cities around Japan. She will then perform at the Second Sky Music Festival hosted by Porter Robinson at the end of October in the U.S. Her world tour, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu 10th ANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR CANDY WAVE, will start in November.

Advance tickets for the Budokan concert will be available to fan club members until May 16. The official website will begin general sales on May 20.

  • Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Begins Collaboration with Chiba’s Choushi Electric Railway

    09.May.2022 | MUSIC / SPOT

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is staying active in 2022. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of her major label debut, the artist recently performed at Coachella, one of the largest music festivals in the United States. On October 21, 2021, she released her first full-length album in three years, ‘Candy Raver.’ In January, Kyary embarked on the largest tour of her career, ‘Kyary Pamyu Pamyu 10th ANNIVERSARY JAPAN TOUR 2022 CANDY WAVE,’ which will see the singer performing 30 shows across Japan.

In conjunction with the nationwide tour, the “LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project” was launched to energize Japan through the appeal of regional towns and cities, and has been attracting major attention. Announced earlier this month at the singer’s performance in Chiba, the Kyary Train finally set out on the Choushi Electric Railway starting April 29.

On April 1, Choushi Electric Railway president Katsunori Takemoto tweeted out something strange and hilarious: “Choushi Electric Railway has tons of problems, so we’ll change our name to Choushi Warui (‘In Bad Shape’) Railway starting today.” The self-deprecating post is on brand for the railway which is known for struggling with a lack of riders over the past decade. Social media blew up following the tweet, with many wondering if it was simply a poor April Fool’s Joke. Shortly after, a collaboration image between the railway and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s popular track Mondai Girl appeared. Commemorative versions of a one-day ticket for the train line are on sale now.

It was also announced that a fully-decorated collaborative train would begin running in late April, though the president remarked that the number of interior decorations would depend entirely on how much the company could fit into the budget. Of course, following this plea, support began pouring in from all over Japan. Now, the entire staff, including one new employee, is ready to welcome guests. Each ticket will come with a sticker, on which is written the president’s heartfelt plea: “I want the Kyary Train to run without any issues!” So far, so good.

The collaborative train is called the ‘Kyary Train with Plenty of Problems,’ and takes place inside a flashy pink train perfectly encapsulating the singer’s image.

Inside the train car, guests are transported into the world of the Mondai Girl music video. Pink, yellow, and blue balloons fill the space, with plenty of other homages present. The ads on display on the train are also full of confessions by Choushi Electric Railway staff, Choushi City residents, and Kyary, regarding their individual problems.

While the collab train is running, riders are encouraged to write a message of support on the right half of the sticker and post it on a special board to be erected at Kannon Station on April 18.

“I would like to renovate the old and problem-filled Kannon Station into Kyary Station,” president Takemoto said recently. He is also looking into erecting a photo booth pulling inspiration from the press conference scene in the Mondai Girl music video while cleaning up the area to draw in new customers. Be sure to check out the collaboration this spring and summer!

  • Japanese NFT Site Metaani Starts Collaboration with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

    06.April.2022 | FASHION

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is teaming up with the NFT project Metaani for a special collaboration during the month of April! To start, Kyary will be releasing an official dance video for the collab free of charge, with certain motion captures being available for purchase through the Metaani site.

Metaani, launched in June 2021, is a collaboration between BeyondConcept and metaverse creator MISOSHITA aimed at supporting crypto artists’ debuts. The adorable dancing scenes of cats, koalas, and other cute characters clad in cool graphic art quickly amassed tons of fans.

The Metaani x Kyary Pamyu Pamyu project was launched after Metaani released fan art of Kyary to celebrate the artist’s 10th anniversary. • Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Collaborates with Chiba’s Choushi Electric Railway for LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project

    05.April.2022 | MUSIC / SPOT

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of her major label debut, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is staying active in 2022. The artist will perform at this year’s Coachella, one of the largest music festivals in the United States, and released her first full-length album in three years ‘Candy Racer’ in October 2021.  On January 16, Kyary embarked on the largest tour of her career, ‘Kyary Pamyu Pamyu 10th ANNIVERSARY JAPAN TOUR 2022 CANDY WAVE,’ which will see the singer performing 30 shows across Japan. In conjunction with the nationwide tour, the “LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project” was launched to energize Japan through the appeal of regional towns and cities, and has been attracting major attention. The details of Kyary’s next collaboration project in Chiba Prefecture have been announced!

To commemorate Kyary’s performance in Chiba on April 3, the singer will be teaming up with Choushi Electric Railway, a rail line that suffered a serious lack of ridership during the pandemic but continues to power through its hardships. The line is headquartered in the city of Choushi and operates a 6.4km, 10-station line between Choushi and Tokawa. To subsidize its operations, the company began selling nure-senbei (moist senbei rice crackers), mazui-bou (‘shoddy snacks’), and more. These treats now account for about 80% of total sales, double those from its railway operations. The company is working hard to attract tourism, with the goal to become ‘Japan’s #1 Entertainment Train,’ but paying for train repairs has been difficult.

The LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project is working to revitalize the Choushi Electric Railway and the town of Choushi using Kyary’s inspiring song Mondai Girl as a motif. Mondai means ‘problem’ in Japanese, and Choushi likes to joke about being riddled with problems!

Mondai Girl was released in 2015 and attracted attention across the world for its message–everyone’s ‘normal’ looks different, and that’s okay. The song was chosen as a perfect fit for the Choushi Electric Railway, which aims to go its own way without being bound by ‘normal’ practices.

The collaboration logo was created as a tribute to the Mondai Girl music video and shows Kyary wearing Choushi Railway goggles. Special railway passes featuring this new imagery will be available for a limited time as part of the collaboration project, and a Choushi Electric Railway x LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project collaboration train is planned to go into operation at the end of April. The interior of the train will depend on how many special passes are sold. The president of the train line, Katsunori Takemoto, is a bit fearful of the project, stating “we can’t make the train too shabby inside, but we don’t really have much of a budget for it.”

The collaboration passes come with a special sticker. While the collab train is running, riders are encouraged to write a message of support on the right half of the sticker and post it on a special board to be erected at Kannon Station on April 18. The president wants everyone to pray for the safe travels of the Kyary train, so be sure to take part!

A collaborative T-shirt is also on sale featuring the new logo and the singer’s 10th-anniversary logo. It will be available on the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project online store starting April 1 for two weeks only!

Amazake was extremely popular during the Edo Period as a drink to keep cool in the heat, so this is a perfect product to grab for the upcoming season.

The special collaboration logo was inspired by Kyary’s 2014 hit Yumeno Hajima Ring Ring. The song is popular for graduation ceremonies with the theme of parting ways, making it appropriate for the current time, as graduation season in Japan is in late March.

The artist released her first full-length album in three years ‘Candy Racer’ in October 2021, and next month Kyary will finally take to the stage at Coachella 2022 in California. Satodo opened in 2021 with the aim of creating sweets that only Parfait, Coffee, Sake, Sato can produce, and has gained national attention for using incredible local ingredients.

The collaborative logo for the project was inspired by Kyary’s 2020 song Kamaitachi. As the logo for one of Satodo’s most popular sweets is a bear, Kyary’s cute persona with bear ears is a perfect match!
