  • Kaori’s Easy Recipe – Learn how to make “Hello Kitty mille-feuille”

    17.June.2018 | FEATURES / FOOD

With just a small bit of ingenuity, turn everyday food into something cute using Kaori’s recipe series! With a few simple ideas, an ordinary recipe magically transforms into a cute dish.

This time you’ll learn to make “Hello Kitty mille-feuille” using bar chocolate.

    1: Ingredients

    1 frozen pie sheet

    some fresh cream

    strawberries

    chocolate bar

    2:

①Take out a frozen pie sheet from the freezer and after thawing for about 3 minutes, cut into 3 parts.

②Bake ①in the over at 180℃ for 15~20 minutes.

③After ② has cooled, divide the baked pie sheet into 2 using a knife.

④Place fresh cream and strawberries on ③. (as much as you like)

    3:Shape the chocolate bar

Flatten out the white chocolate and using the Hello Kitty cookie cutter cut out a Hello Kitty face. Cut out the ears, nose and eyes after you have colored the white chocolate.

4:After it is finished, cool it for a while in the fridge. (By cooling it the chocolate will become hard and this makes it easier to decorate.)

5:Place the Hello Kitty on top of the mille-feuille. Viola! Your “Hello Kitty mille-feuille” is now complete.

It’s easy to use chocolate-bar chocolate to form various shapes so it is very suitable to make “character-sweets.” A simple mille-feuille can be transformed into a cute and fancy sweets item just by decorating it with a Hello Kitty.

  • Kaori’s Easy Recipe – Learn How to Make Pompompurin Pumpkin Tarts

    12.May.2018 | FEATURES / FOOD

With just a small bit of ingenuity, turn everyday food into something cute using Kaori’s recipe series! With a few simple ideas, an ordinary recipe magically transforms into a cute dish.

For this recipe, you’ll learn how make mini Pompompurin pumpkin tarts! This is a simple recipe you can make with just a blender.

    S__8216618

    1: Ingredients

    12 Tart shells

150g Pumpkin (deseeded, skin taken off and made soft)

50ml Fresh cream (In this recipe I used soy milk)

20-30g Sugar (Depending on the sweetness of the pumpkin)

    1 Egg yolk (small egg)

    Sliced Chocolate

    Tinned yellow peach

     S__8216619

2: Steam and make the pumpkin soft in the microwave. Place the softened pumpkin, sugar, fresh cream (or soy milk) and egg yolk into a blender.

    S__8216620

3: Blitz until it’s mixed like in the photo above.

     S__8216621

4: Pour the mixture from Step 3 into the tart shells and place into a 180℃ preheated oven. Lower the temperature to 140-150℃ and cook for 10-15 minutes. (You don’t want to brown anything, so we cook it on a low heat.)

If it looks like it’s about to start browning, cover with aluminium foil as this will prevent it from burning.

     S__8216622

5: Once your cooked tarts have fully cooled down, use a round cutter to make a hat out of chocolate and a tear-drop cutter to make ears out of the yellow peach. The round ball on top of the hat can be made by breaking off some sliced chocolate and rolling it with your fingers.

Finally, drawn on the eyes, nose and mouth with a warmed chocolate pen!

     S__8216623

    S__8216624

The crunchy tart shells and moist pumpkin paste go pair together wonderfully! And the sourness from the yellow peach is perfect, making is really tasty♡

    BRITISH INDIAN CAFE 1930
You wouldn’t think that this is a curry house, with its landmark stylish red wall. They serve Indian curry made the way the British do. Their popular butter chicken curry mixes together honey and fresh cream to give it its distinct sweet flavour. The faint spiciness and milk sweetness has made it a particularly popular dish with female customers. The softness of the tandoori chicken is great too. Being British-style, the curry goes well together with black tea.

    HENDRIX
You could call the chefs at HENDRIX spice masters. They’re extremely thorough and attentive with the timing of when they put their spices in the curry. A popular dish on their menu is their pork curry. It’s cooked gradually with a large amount of spice and has a deep flavour that doesn’t just simply scream ‘hot.’ They’re also particular about their saffron rice which complements the curry. They use only koshihikari rice from the city of Inzai in Chiba Prefecture. The fact they’re even particular about the rice means you can look forward to some truly layered flavours!

    MOKUBABZA

This keema curry restaurant is located on the corner of a secluded street. It originally used to open only as a night bar, but keema curry became the talk of the town for being delicious, so it came to be open during lunchtime too. The most popular item on their menu is undoubtedly their ‘Cheese Keema Curry.’ It offers a large serving of rice topped with keema curry and melty mozzarella cheese. Placed again on top of that is a perfectly round egg yolk, giving it a unique appearance. This exquisite dish is cooked thoroughly with carefully selected spices.
