Comment: Kai Ogasawara/Bullet Train (Hideyoshi Nagachika)
“As a fan of the original work it has been a very happy time for me to return to the world of Tokyo Ghoul as Hide! I looked forward to the enthusiasm on set every time [we were filming], and even now I miss it dearly. Hide, who is a human, is Kaneki’s best friend and a pillar to him. I made sure to get that across when filming, as well as him being a light [for Kaneki]. By choice I went ahead and thought of it being a love triangle between Kaneki and Tsukiyama… (laughs). I’m looking forward to everyone experiencing fully the world of ghouls in this film which has more crescendos than the last.”

The final volume of Tokyo Ghoul:re was released back in July this year, which together with the original series has sold over 37 million copies worldwide. The original live-action adaption was released in 29 countries worldwide on July 29, 2017. The sequel, tentatively titled Tokyo Ghoul 2, is being released in summer 2019 under new staff.

Hide is a valuable friend to Kaneki and the one person he can confide in. How will this play out in the battle between Kaneki and his greatest enemy Tsukiyama?
