amazarashi x Dororo

amazarashi’s new song Sayonara Gokko will be used as the ending theme for the upcoming anime series Dororo which is set to begin airing on January 7.

 

Dororo is a manga series by Osamu Tezuka about a rōnin named Hyakkimaru whose father bartered away 48 of his body parts to 48 demons so he could obtain the power to rule the country. The story follows Hyakkimaru who now has fake body parts as he tries to defeat the 48 demons to retrieve his real parts. On the way he meets a young thief called Dororo.

EMPiRE x FAIRY TAIL

Idol group EMPiRE released their first album THE EMPiRE STRiKES START!!  in April last year. The record made it to No. 7 on Oricon’s Weekly Album Charts despite being released solely on cassette tape. Their upcoming first single Piasu will be released on February 27 and will be used as the new ending theme for the ongoing anime series Fairy Tail from January 13.

The original manga series is written by Makoto Fukami and illustrated by Seigo Tokiya and follows five magical girls who are sent to war as Magical Girl Special-Ops to defeat undead creatures that have resurfaced after three years of peace. BiSH x 3D Kanojo: Real Girl

BiSH’s own Aina The End wrote the lyrics for their new song Futari Nara which will be used as the opening theme for the second season of 3D Kanojo: Real Girl. BiSH originally performed the ending theme song HiDE the BLUE for season one. The release date for Futari Nara has yet to be announced but you can hear it first when the anime airs in January 2019.

ASCA x Sword Art Online: Alicization

ASCA will perform the new opening theme for the ongoing anime series Sword Art Online: Alicization which will return on January 6. Titled RESISTER, the song is described as having aggressive and fast-paced guitar and strings backed by the singer’s strong vocals. It will debut in the series on January 12 and be released on CD on February 27.

ReoNa x Sword Art Online: Alicization

ReoNA, who is known for providing the singing voice for the character Kanzaki Elza in the ongoing anime series Sword Art Online: Alicization, will perform the new ending theme for the episode airing on January 12. The song is titled forget-me-not and will be released as the singer’s second single on February 6. This marks ReoNa’s first theme song for the series. It is described as a fast-paced melancholic track which has a nostalgic sound and lyrics that encompass both ReoNA’s artistry and the world of Alicization.

 

The new ending theme will also be released digitally on January 12, the same day as when it premieres in the anime.

    The new trailer gives us a peek into Medina’s past and where she is headed, as well as new story content, characters, and the “Underworld,” a mysterious virtual world set in the anime’s Alicization arc.

    Those who pre-order a copy of the digital “Deluxe Edition” of the game game will be able to play the game before its release date with “βeater’s Player.”

  • ReoNa to Perform Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld Opening Theme

    Despite having been just one year since her debut as a solo artist, Japanese singer ReoNa is already in the spotlight. She made her name known during the broadcast of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online in April 2018 in which she performed the singing voice of the anime’s singer-songwriter character Elza Kanzaki. She also performed the Sword Art Online: Alicization ending theme song forget-me-not and the insert song Over the Rainbow in January 2019.

    This past weekend, ReoNa performed live at LisAni! LIVE 2020 at Makuhari Messe on February 9, a song bringing together artists who perform songs for an ime series. During her performance, she announced that she will perform the second opening theme song ANIMA for the upcoming War of Underworld arc of Sword Art Online: Alicization, which will begin airing this April. This marks one year since ReoNa’s song forget-me-not was used for Alicization, as well as her first performance of an opening theme.

    But that’s not all. She also revealed that she will perform the opening theme Scar/let for the forthcoming video game Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris, which is set to hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on May 21, 2020. Be sure to check out the game’s latest trailer.

    Fans can also listen to the full version of Till the End, a song by ReoNa written to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Sword Art Online light novel series, now streaming on Spotify. Released on Sunday, ReoNa also performed the song at LisAi! LIVE 2020.

     

    Since her solo debut, ReoNa has already sung five songs for the Sword Art Online franchise.

    In Sword Art Online’s 10 years, this is the first time an artist has performed both opening theme songs for both a new anime season and video game.

     

    We look forward to hearing ReoNa in Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld in April, and Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris on May 21.

  • amazarashi To Release Their First Original Full Album in 2 Years

     Japanese rock band amazarashi, which includes Aomori prefecture’s Hiromu Akita as lead vocalist, is set to release their new album boycott on March 11, 2020, which will be their first original full album release in two years. They have also dropped a sneak preview of their artist photo. 

     

    amazarashi are pushing full steam ahead, constantly producing new and exciting content. Since the release of Chihou Toshi No Memento Mori in December 2017, amazarashi followed up with their first ever live performance at the Nippon Budokan under the concert title Rodoku Enso Jikken Kukan Shin Gengo Chitsujo, subsequently releasing the Dororo anime ending theme song Sayonara Gokko and the music video for their song Miraininarenakatta Anoyoruni, which worked up a sensation for featuring famous actor Ryusei Yokohama among other big names. 

     

    The upcoming album will come in three formats including two first press limited editions and one regular edition. Each format contains 14 songs. The two first press editions will also include original video contents, music videos, the live video of their performance that took place at the end of the year and a short story detailing the early years of Hiromu Akita in the form of a special booklet.

  • LiSA’s Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld Ending Theme Tops Asian Music Charts

    LiSA earned the title of female Japanese artist with the most downloaded track of 2019 in September for her song Gurenge which broke 300,000 downloads on September 22, 2019. The song was used as the opening theme for the TV anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba which aired from April to September. As of November 2019, the song has over 370,000 downloads, and the number claws itself closer to 400,000 everyday.

    LiSA’s new song unlasting is being used as the ending theme for the ongoing anime series Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld. The song received an early digital release on October 21 ahead of the single’s CD release which is set for December 11. It has already topped digital music charts in Japan and overseas, including the J-pop category on iTunes in countries around Asia including Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, and elsewhere.

     

    The song reached No. 1 on the the KKBOX’s J-pop daily charts in Taiwan (October 23-November 3) as well as its weekly charts (October 25-31). It also made it to No. 1 on the QQ Music J-Pop weekly charts (October 24-30).

    The CD covers for the physical release of unlasting have been showcased. This will be LiSA’s 16th single.

     

    To date, the majority of the visual work for LiSA’s releases have been colourful with a pop aesthetic, but she has turned that on its head this time with a monochrome concept for Regular Edition copies. First Press Limited Edition copies come with a simple cover with just the song title while Limited Pressing Edition copies feature an illustration from the anime series.

    It has been announced that LiSA will perform the ending theme unlasting for the anime series Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld. The first episode aired on Saturday and was a recap of the first 24 episodes of Alicization. LiSA’s new song will be used from the second episode starting on October 12. This marks LiSA’s 7th song she has performed for the Sword Art Online franchise, including for its anime series, film and games.

    unlasting will be released digitally on October 21 at 00:00 (JST). The song will be available for pre-order in Japan from October 7 at 00:00 (JST), the same date has the SAO protagonist’s birthday, Kirito.

    Speaking about her new collaboration with the series, LiSA commented: “The first opening theme for the Alicization arc which I sang was ADAMAS, a song that wishes for a bright future. unlasting as the ending theme is about a new chapter that wishes for the sadness the characters were left with to not last forever.   • Attack on Titan, Seven Deadly Sins, Fairy Tail & Other Anime T-Shirts Releasing at UNIQLO

    UNIQLO’s graphic t-shirt brand UT are celebrating the 60th anniversary of manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump with a new t-shirt collection via their sub brand MANGA UT. The t-shirts will go on sale from August 12.

     

    The collection covers six anime series serialised in the popular magazine including Hajime no IppoFairy TailThe Seven Deadly SinsAttack on TitanNegima! Magister Negi Magi, and Shōta no Sushi. Each t-shirt pays homage to its respective series, featuring iconic scenes that have stayed with fans, sound effects, and original designs that capture their worlds.

    Hajime no Ippo is a boxing manga written and illustrated by George Morikawa. It follows Ippo Makunouchi, a shy high school student who suffers at the hands of bullies. He begins a career in boxing in search of the answer to the question “What is strength?” and battles his rivals and those around him to grow as an individual. The t-shirt design captures the lively energy seen in the characters and is surrounded by eye-catching SFX.

    Fairy Tail

    Fairy Tail is a fantasy adventure manga written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. It follows the dragon slaying wizard Natsu and his tale of growth as part of the Fairy Tail guild. One of the t-shirts features four characters from the guild and the other is a large illustration of Acnologia, the main characters’ strongest enemy.

    The Seven Deadly Sins

    The Seven Deadly Sins is a fantasy battle adventure series written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki. It follows the titular characters each of whom represent the seven deadly sins. There are several t-shirt designs including one featuring Meliodas looking up to the sky and another of him and his comrades out on a peaceful trip. There is even a hand drawn illustration of Hawk, a talking pig and Meliodas’s pet, which was illustrated by Suzuki himself and UT’s editors.

    Attack on Titan

    Attack on Titan is an dark fantasy adventure series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. The story is set in a world where humanity lives within giant walls which help protect them from towering man-eating Titans. The terrifying t-shirt design features one of the Titans that live inside the walls.

    Negima! Magister Negi Magi

    Negima! Magister Negi Magi is an fantasy adventure and harem series written and illustrated by Ken Akamatsu. It follows the story of Negi, a wizard who becomes an English teacher at Mahora Academy, where he helps his class of students overcome their problems. He is also in search of his father who is known as a hero in the world of wizardry. There are two t-shirts, one featuring the main heroine Asuna Kagurazaka, and another of some of the other students in the class.

    Shōta no Sushi

    Shōta no Sushi is a food manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Terasawa which follows the story of Sekiguchi Shota who works as an apprentice and aims to become a sushi chef. There are two t-shirt designs, one which features the manga’s logo and a slice of sushi and the other with the logo and a whole sushi platter.

  • Join Sword Art Online’s Characters in Akihabara to Help Dominate the Goblins

    To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Sword Art Online light novel series, an event titled “SAO Ex-Chronicle” will take place at Akihavara UDX this August. The event will feature the interactive game Sword Skill Challenge which uses the latest motion capture technology by Sony. You can sign-up to attend via the event’s homepage right now until July 28.

    Sword Skill Challenge will be located at the event’s entrance and will open on August 12 for one week only. Using cutting-edge motion capture technology, players will take up the role of familiar faces such as Kirito and Eugeo, and use their entire body to take down and subjugate goblins in real time with their sword skills. The CG models from Bandai Entertainment’s SWORD ART ONLINE Alicization Lycoris will be used.

  • Sword Art Online’s 10th Anniversary Theme Song Performed by ReoNa

    When we think of Gun Gale Online, we think of ReoNa, who is tied to the Sword Art Online arc with her performance as the singing voice of Kanzaki Elza. Her collaboration with the series has led to her coming to perform the manga’s official 10th anniversary theme song.

    The song is titled Till the End and we can hear a sneak peek of it for the new commercial for the upcoming Sword Art Online Ex-Chronicle event in Akihabara. Check it out below.

     

    The full song will premiere at the event. The CD containing the track will also be sold there together with the event’s 10th anniversary pamphlets.
